I am seeing three students of my own this semester. A grade 5 student for Math and English, with my wife Angela. Also, I am seeing his brother, a grade 11 student who is taking calculus ahead of time. I saw him last year for grade 11 and grade 12 Math also for grade 10 English, Civics and Religion. He is doing very well.
I also see in person a student in person and online who is taking grade 10 math. I helped prepare him for this semester, one semester back. He is getting 90% in Math now. The plan is to see him in the summer months for both Math and English.
I have two students through Brainiacs Online, a grade 9 student and a grade 12 student. I am preparing the grade 12 student for Advanced Functions and also Calculus and Vectors for next semester.
My new student in grade 7 mathematics is doing very well. He received a grade of 88% in algebra last week. Moving forward he is studying fractions.
I have a new student that I started to tutor in math yesterday. I found him through the Learning Disabilities Association of York Region. He is in grade 7.
I am having continued success tutoring grades 8 and 11 at the moment. My students’ grades have improved dramatically.
I have had a few meetings with my student from the University of Guelph. I am giving her review classes in precalculus. She needs help with inequalities, graphing quadratic equations, trigonometry, inverse functions, equations of circles and transformations of graphs. She will start back on the 9th of September with calculus at the university.
I have a new student. She is studying Ecology at the University of Guelph and needs my help preparing for a calculus course she will be taking in the fall.
She is experienced with online tutoring so connecting with her was no problem.
For our first session, I gave her a review of functions. She has a set of notes she wants me to review with her.
My student from Belgium is now taking grade twelve physics. I helped him with some energy conservation, momentum, gravitation, electricity and magnetism problems. He will be attending the University of Waterloo studying life sciences in the fall.
My student from Belgium is doing well in advanced functions and also calculus. He may need my help with some physics later on in the month.
I have a new student. She is a teacher in the United States looking to upgrade her skills so she can teach a higher grade level. We connected okay. I am going over some sample questions she might be asked on a multiple choice test.
My student by telephone has turned into an online student. We connected the computers okay and now are trying to get the audio perfected so she doesn’t have to dial long distance.
She is getting 92% on her homework and 74% on her tests.
